An intensive four-day journey into the world of micromosaic, designed for those with an interest in and passion for this 18th-century art form.
Number of participants: from 3 to 5
An intensive course to learn the art of Roman micromosaic, a technique that originated in Rome and reached the height of its refinement in the late 18th century.
During the course, you may choose to create either a piece of jewelry or a small artwork, experiencing every stage of the creative process firsthand.
You will observe the glass enamel threading process and have the opportunity to experiment directly with color mixing and the handling of molten glass, pulling it to create the thin rods used in micromosaic. Each rod is made in the studio using the traditional “filato” technique, through the fusion of glass enamels at temperatures of 800–900°C.
The program combines historical insights with hands-on practice, covering techniques from cutting and material preparation to final placement. A complete experience designed to provide effective and immersive learning.
